Tessel de Zwart (1994) is a multidisciplinary artist and fashion designer based in Amsterdam. She studied Fashion Design at HKU, but has since expanded her practice beyond fashion into the field of visual art.

Her work moves between fashion, sculpture, installation, and textiles, with the body always at its core. This focus originates from her background in fashion, where the body is a starting point, but in her current practice she uses these skills in a more experimental way, shifting from dressing the body to reconstructing and reimagining it.

Drawing from both the body and nature, her work explores themes of decay, transformation, and the influence of digital imagery on our self-image. Her work often carries a theatrical quality, creating staged, almost performative environments in which objects and forms appear as remnants or extensions of a body.

Her approach is experimental, playful, and intuitive, often working in a collage-like manner to deconstruct and rebuild images, materials, and identities.
